Khamenei ally says useless for U.S. to threaten Iran over missile test: Fars

Reuters By Parisa Hafezi ReutersFebruary 2, 2017 By Parisa Hafezi ANKARA (Reuters) - A top adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Thursday Iran will not yield to "useless" U.S. threats from "an inexperienced person" over its ballistic missile program. U.S. President Donald Trump's national security adviser, Michael Flynn, said on Wednesday the United States was putting Iran on notice over its "destabilizing activity" after it test-fired a ballistic missile. Trump echoed that language on Thursday, saying in a tweet "Iran has been put formally put on notice" after his administration said it was reviewing how to respond to the launch that Iran said was solely for defensive purposes.

Odd thing to say to a nation that has hundreds of nuclear-tipped missiles that can turn your country into a sheet of radioactive glass.

I think Iran will be hit soon after the next provocation. In fact I’m sure of it.

We probably ought to have an operation praying mantis II. It would be interesting to blow a bunch of their shit up just to see what they do and don’t do.

They and their allies will strike back asymmetrically, blowing up school buses on back country roads and attacking shopping malls. Yes, we do need to stop them from going nuclear, but thanks to Obama we can no longer hit them with impunity.

Except for Israel, the Middle East seems oblivious to the American process of the changing of the guard. By 2001, they were used to eight years of American equivocation, double-mindedness, and inaction under Clinton and were utterly shocked as they ran deep into their caves when America invaded Afghanistan under GWBush. In the same way, I think they’ve been used to American pro-Iranian stupidity under Obama and may be largely unaware of what’s coming under Trump.

Yes in fact we do or will if things work out - some modernized nuke warheads should be given proper testing.

“Odd thing to say to a nation that has hundreds of nuclear-tipped missiles that can turn your country into a sheet of radioactive glass.”

Even more odd considering that the same nation also has the Mark I Mad Dog weapons system, which is infinitely aggressive and adaptable to whatever defenses one attempts to use against it.

I don’t know if they have sheriffs in Iran, but they had better look up the meaning of the phrase, “There’s a new sheriff in town.”

P.S. It is thousands, not hundreds (but who’s counting?).

I thought Obama had gotten rid of even more of them.

Thousands of warheads, certainly.

I certainly hope it is still thousands.

.... the American government will understand that threatening Iran is useless....

OK....But, I don’t think this President has a history of “useless” threats.

They really don’t want to play the terror game with us that way. I’m 100% sure that we can out terror Iran. They can’t have nukes and they shouldn’t have long range missiles and they absolutely can’t have both. I have to confess, I am biased. I despise the Iranians and would love to see that whole country set on fire but I recognize that there are compelling reasons not to out right destroy them. That being said, they can’t be allowed to have nuclear weapons.

I do agree Trump is the wrong president to play games with. He intends to win and he has the strongest cards in the deck.

If you think the liberals are bat-sh@t crazy now, wait until Trump bombs their Intel building in Tehran.

Trump needs to send up a drone over Iran’s one and only gas refinery and have a B2 launch one JDAM about 500 yards away from the facility and then say cross us again and we will put 10 of these on your one and only gas refinery. Do we understand one another or shall I continue walking in these kabooms until I get your attention.
