The chairmen of these committees need to come up with a work-around, quickly, to vote on the confirmation of these nominees. The process cannot be allowed to be halted by these cowardly dem senators refusing to participate. To hell with them. Any illusion that the repubs have about getting along, working with these idiots should be put to rest.
Just have one Republican temporarily switch his Voter Registration to Democrat and get the Vote over.

Why do you need a committee vote in the first place. Even if the committee voted against confirmation, the person could still be voted on, on the floor. This is really silly on their part.

It would be far better to publicize the existence of this than to actually use it in the current environment. I see two traps there, as far as the Democrat narrative and how they would run with it.

Well, you certainly can’t accuse the Republican Leadership for thinking outside the box or using creative thinking in order to do what needs to be done.
McConnell can put the Senate into recess, and let Trump make recess appointments for Mnuchin, Price, Jeff Sessions, Tillerson and, for that matter, Scalia’s replacement.
