I noticed today that the demeanor of the press has changed since last week. He has them acting more like adults than children with serious questions for the most part instead of a constant barrage of gotcha questions and the same question asked by six organizations.

Good for him, I am really enjoying watching him.

Yeah, they've been stuck in campaign mode, as if the election is still going on. It'll take time, but maybe Spicer will manage to drag them into the here & now.
