The politicians are hoping it is an Islamophobic attack, because that would fit in with their agenda. If it’s an intramural attack, which is at least as likely, it does nothing to paint Muslims as decent, hard-working, or not inclined to terrorize their neighbors, which is the only paradigm which many western politicians and journalists will accept.
actually to me in would underscore how violent and extreme they are. we all know they kill each other for not being militant enough.
and who wants to be in the crosshairs of their in-fighting.
