"Earlier in the day, Mr. Trump explained to an interviewer for the Christian Broadcasting Network that Christians in Syria were horribly treated and alleged that under previous administrations, if you were a Muslim you could come in, but if you were a Christian, it was almost impossible.
I thought it was very, very unfair. So we are going to help them, the president said.
In fact, the United States accepts tens of thousands of Christian refugees. According to the Pew Research Center, almost as many Christian refugees (37,521) were admitted as Muslim refugees (38,901) in the 2016 fiscal year."

We know the New York Times often lies by omission. This is what the PEW report says in its summary:
http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/10/05/u-s-admits-record-number-of-muslim-refugees-in-2016/
"The administration set the goal of resettling 10,000 Syrian refugees in the U.S. in the fiscal year. This goal was exceeded, and refugee status was given to 12,587 Syrians. Nearly all of them (99%) were Muslim and less than 1% were Christian. As a point of comparison, Pew Research Center estimated Syrias religious composition to be 93% Muslim and 5% Christian in 2010."

Hallelujah!
This list Will get bigger. It will be Yuge!
If those seeking to exit are muslim, they are invaders, not refugees.
AWESOME! That’s why Americans elected him!
HOSTILE OR FAILED nations. THAT is the key distinction, not religion.
Failed states cannot provide the reliable background info needed to determine the desirablility of admitting the person.
Almost as many? To avoid massive societal disruption, shouldn't the makeup of refugees reflect the existing makeup of the US population? I was unaware that there were almost as many Christians as Muslims in the US.
Go Trump!
Islam is stopped!
Obama kicks unicorns slaps kids......
This decision(although applauded by most Americans) will cause many constitutional difficulties between Trump and Congress.
Muslims are a scourge no matter where they are.
The NY Times is bragging that the Christian/Muslim refugee numbers are even?
According to Fox News, as of September 2, 2016, 10,801 Syrian Refugees were accepted into the US, and of that 10,801 were Muslim (mostly Sunni) except for 56 Christians, 20 Shiite Muslims, and 17 Yazidi’s. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2016/09/02/gross-injustice-10000-syrian-refugees-to-us-56-are-christian.html
I thought BO was going to be sounding off on anything Trump does to destroy his (BO’s) legacy. Anyone heard a peep from BO? I’m sure the Deranged Media are trying to get some word from him, but I’ve seen/heard nothing. You’d think this would be it....

Worth 10 minutes of your time, Folks. It was beautiful.
I posted this quote on my Facebook page:
The Secretary of Treasury [sic., he meant State] and the Attorney General will invalidate all visas issued to Iranian citizens for future entry into the United States, effective today. We will not reissue visas, nor will we issue new visas, except for compelling and proven humanitarian reasons or where the national interest of our own country requires. This directive will be interpreted very strictly. - Donald Trump
After I received several responses of outrage from left-wing friends, I posted:
Just kidding. That was Jimmy Carter. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/?pid=33233";
Good way to get left-wingers to unfriend you on Facebook.
There is no Constitutional question at issue. The 1952 Nationalization and Immigration Act gives the President sole power to determine immigration restrictions. It has been challenged on several fronts in the past, and the case law is clear: it is Constitutional. Foreign Nationals who are not US citizens -- without credentials -- whether or not on US soil, if not yet subject to the jurisdiction of the United States do not have Fourteenth Amendment protections.
All refugee applicants and all immigrants fall under that category.
Period.
Congressmen (and FReepers) who think otherwise are ignorant of the law and the Constitution.
Elite troll skills there.
I can’t decide which I prefer most, President Trump doing what he said he’d do or the mass spontaneous explosions of Liberal heads...
