I disagree. At least since the election, Obama has been primarily concerned with his future money making potential.
The Obamas can always rake in a few million off of far left-wing nostalgia, but to make a Clinton level fortune (that he is entitled to, dammit) he has to be able to peddle influence. There were not enough Bergdahl supporters to worth bothering with.
The gay/transgender lobby and supporters are rich beyond belief (contrary to what they claim). So you might be right.
