Her husband has single-handedly triggered a diplomatic crisis between the US and its southern neighbor in a confrontation which has helped send Mexicos economy into a tailspin.
Trump-Mexico relations hit new low after 20% border wall tax mooted Read more So it was probably inevitable that Melania Trumps appearance on the cover of Vanity Fair Mexico would provoke outrage.
The fact that she is posing with a fork and a string of jewels as if she were about to eat them like spaghetti has only added insult to injury in a country where almost half the population lives in poverty.
The magazines February issue includes a lengthy interview with Trump (which originally appeared in GQ last year), and promises to dish on her (turbulent) family past, the tactics for dealing with her husband and how she plans to turn herself into the new Jackie Kennedy.

So Mexico is going with the Let Them Eat Cake type of hit.
Its a magazine about fashion
and silver (as shown) is one of Mexico’s top export products
More liberal outrage.
More fake news.
So what?
She agreed to the photos. I think they are creative..but yes, I can see where it would hack some people off right now in Mexico given the problems.
It’s pieces from her own jewelry line.
Another reason to love our First Family.
More of what to look forward to over the next 8 years.

THE WHITE HOUSE
Office of the Press Secretary
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
January 27, 2017
Joint Statement on U.S.-Mexico Relations
The United States President Donald J. Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto spoke by phone this morning for an hour. The call was mutually arranged by their teams.
The two had a productive and constructive call regarding the bilateral relationship between the two countries, the current trade deficit the United States has with Mexico, the importance of the friendship between the two nations, and the need for the two nations to work together to stop drug cartels, drug trafficking and illegal guns and arms sales.
With respect to payment for the border wall, both presidents recognize their clear and very public differences of positions on this issue but have agreed to work these differences out as part of a comprehensive discussion on all aspects of the bilateral relationship.
Both presidents have instructed their teams to continue the dialogue to strengthen this important strategic and economic relationship in a constructive way.
Don’t know much about this site, haven’t found anything on any other site yet, but if true, Way To Go President Trump...ART OF THE DEAL being worked before our very eyes...

That Mexico provides 20 day visa’s to migrants passing from it’s Southern border to cross illegally into the United States proves they are our enemy. What country participates in the invasion of another and considers it a friend?
. . . and if you think the upper crust in Mexico who subscribe to that magazine are up nights worrying about offending the peasants, well, go clean up the cabana. It’s a mess and we’re having a pool party again tonight.
She doesn’t have a line anymore that I know of. QVC doesnt sell it anymore.
In that photo she has a rather Latin look to her. Very pretty...
Reminds me of a week or two ago when there was a reference to style and grace, and Melania having to live up to Michelle’s standards. I laughed.
Melania will be up to the task, as proven here.
So I just wonder if all the gorgeous silver jewelry was made in Mexico by artisans, or created using Mexican products? The cover designer was obviously creating a theme of silver
If Melania posed in a serape eating a taco the left would accuse her of “cultural appropriation”
There’s nothing the Trumps can do that the left wont criticize
Nothing
Nothing
How is it, that the we have somehow become responsible for the problems in Mexico?
I get it. Mexico has problems. But if we import all their problems. Then it’s just the same problems spread across more people and more geography
This is a wild card.
However, I think Trump likely realizes that leaders of their countries have to say things to appease and then work behind the scenes.
They have to walk a fine line with Trump because he has a long memory and if you mock him too much he may cut you off at the knees behind the scenes.
Doesn’t the “insensitivity” rest on the the publisher of Vanity Fair Mexico?
Most Mexicans are mixed race mestizo.
The ruling class are Spaniards descended from the colonial white gentry.
