I doubt it. As crazy as Erdogan is, he knows that Ivan would kick his ass, if the US and NATO did not participate.
No doubt true.
“If we go along with this, it will cause problems with the Turks, which is probably Russias plan.”
********************************************************************************
This is VERY good news...both for the Syrian Kurds and for us. If the Turks do not like this (they won’t) we should tell the Islamist president and government of Turkey to go F themselves. The Turks have ZERO business or authority in Syria!
You have assessed that correctly.
I agree. Not sure that will happen.
“...it will be a hard sell with Turkey.
Turkey might leave NATO over it,...”

God, I hope so. Good riddance to these Islamists.
Yes, they are certainly involved in both Iraq and in Syria.
Lots of bad players.
Yes
The West has shafted the Kurds on so many promises, that I wonder it Putin is trying to set up a new client state. I also wonder if they will believe him.
From my view point, no they don’t.
Kurds are not dummies.
But they are not all alike. Different in Iraq, Iran than in Syria. Even in Syria are mixed elements in communities. They worry about so many refugees and the impact. Dilution of their love of freedom, which is real.
I’ve been watching this a while. Trust is built.
I don’t know if it will, but it should. We could and should use what influence we have to ensure it.
I hope that is the outcome.
I don’t know why the Christian world should defend Turkey against Russia, which is another Christian country. If it comes down to it, we need to side with Russia. In return for not waging all-out war, we should demand that the Turks return Constantople to Christian rule.
Agreed!!!
