Vice President Mike Pence will speak at the March for Life on Friday — making him the first vice president ever to address the pro-life event in person.
That’s according to a report in the New York Times — though March for Life has yet to confirm Pence will indeed be on the roster of speakers.
Pence is the former governor of Indiana who has a longtime pro-life position and a lengthy pro-life record putting pro-life legislation into law in that state and voting pro life as a member of Congress.
Let me be clear: People who know me well know Im pro-life, and I dont apologize for it, he’s said previously. I want to live to see the day that we put the sanctity of life back at the center of American law, and we send Roe v. Wade to the ash heap of history, where it belongs.
White House officials confirmed today that Vice President Pence would address the pro-life Marchers. As many as half a million or more pro-life people will gather in the nation’s capital to express their opposition to abortion.

Previously, pro-life presidents including Ronald Reagan and George W Bush spoke to pro-life people attending the March for Life but did so via a phone call. Pence’s in person speach at the pro-life March will no doubt require a ramping up of security at the event — where abortion activists often counter-protest.
The Trump Administration is also sending other officials to the March for Life including senior advisor Kellyanne Conway, a longtime pro-life advocate.
Indiana Right to Life President Mike Fichter previously sent LifeNews the following comments about Pence, who he knows very well:
Gov. Pence is devoted to protecting the unborn and their mothers. Gov. Pences pro-life stance is more than a talking point; Gov. Pence has put his pro-life position into action time and time again. Indiana is a better state for the unborn and their mothers because of the Governors pro-life leadership.
Even before becoming the states top executive, Gov. Pence demonstrated his willingness to fight for the protection of life in a meaningful way. In Congress, Pence led the effort to defund the nations largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood.
Since becoming governor, Gov. Pence has advanced the pro-life cause through legislation and his administration. Under Gov. Pence, there are four fewer abortion facilities. The state abortion rate has been steadily declining every year. The state is enforcing health regulations that protect womens health, and abortion doctors know they dont have a free pass.
Among the pro-life measures signed by Gov. Pence during his tenure in India:

I think I finally found a business opportunity that can make me rich! Yep, I’m opening a cleaning service to deal with all the liberal heads exploding across the fruited plain.
Lots of upside, President Trump has only been in office a week! Maybe I’ll franchise this thing, those blue cities are more than one Man can manage on his own. Send me $50K and I’ll get you started today!
"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."
May marchers for life challenge receptive minds among Americans to re-examine their nation's founding ideas of liberty and life!

Winning!
If I recall, Reagan addressed a pro-life group in front of the White House, via a remote speaker and microphone. I believe he was the first president to do so.
However, this should be Mike’s show. He needs some face time and to carve out issues for himself.
This is wonderful news!
Pence will be there—in person.
So will Kellyanne Conway.
This is yuuuggee!
Trump talked up this March in Muir’s ABC interview last night, as well as talking it up at the GOP retreat.
LS, please let the Trump folks know that this gesture—all of it—is deeply appreciated.
Great news! I will have to look for a livestream.
Yes, please! This is such wonderful news!
What a typo, lol.
Yes seconded! Finally we have people in office who exceed expectations.
I was going to say I was there in Washington when VP Dan Quayle addressed the marchers in 1991 but it was not in person. It was from a remote location. I wrote VP Quayle a ‘thank you’ letter and got a boilerplate reply full of gobbledygook that did not address pro-life issues. That’s probably where I started getting spam mail from the GOP.
I’m glad to hear Vice President Pence, like his fellow Indianan, will address the gathering. He has come down reliably as a supporter of life. But I still wait to see action beyond just words. Some of Trump’s early executive orders are a step in the right direction.
