If you listened to the media narrative, the inaugural address by President Trump was filled with doom and gloom. Most MSM pundits labeling the speech dark, foreboding, negative or divisive. Some even called it out of touch and dystopian. Except, theres a problem,
.the vast majority of Americans liked it.

The American people loved it.
The media hated it.
Fake news media haven’t yet figured out that they are IRRELEVANT!
I liked Dr. Laura Schlessinger’s take on it.
“I watched John Kennedy’s inauguration....ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country. It was poetic.
Ronald Reagan.....Poetic. President Obama.....Poetic.
I watched President Trump’s inaugural address. It was NOT poetic.
That was John Wayne, and I LOVED it!”
Ya what’s going on? The media told us it was a dark speech a fearful view of the future under Trump etc. I wondered if the liberals were seeing the same speech,as their view was so different.
The pundit class has been wrong for two solid years. Whatever they say the opposite is true
What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.
"Divisive?"
We are one nation and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams. And their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny. The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.
"It will be of little avail to the people that the laws are made by men of their own choice, if the laws be so voluminous that they cannot be read, or so incoherent that they cannot be understood; if they be repealed or revised before they are promulgated, or undergo such incessant changes that no man who knows what the law is today can guess what it will be tomorrow." - Federalist Papers, No. 62, February 27, 1788
Note particularly the following words of wisdom from Federalist No. 63, and take heart. According to Madison:
"As the cool and deliberate sense of the community ought, in all governments, and actually will, in all free governments, ultimately prevail over the views of its rulers; so there are particular moments in public affairs when the people, stimulated by some irregular passion, or some illicit advantage, or misled by the artful misrepresentations of interested men, may call for measures which they themselves will afterwards be the most ready to lament and condemn. In these critical moments, how salutary will be the interference of some temperate and respectable body of citizens, in order to check the misguided career, and to suspend the blow meditated by the people against themselves, until reason, justice, and truth can regain their authority over the public mind?" - Federalist Papers, No. 63, 1788
Trump sounds like Pat Buchanan with America first except Trump’s Bibi first.
That’s a great quote!!
yes they did, www.MaineTV.net which has the speech transcript and video has had over 100,000 hits since Friday.
We haven’t had a Pro-American President since Reagan.
It’s refreshing to most people who are not in favor off subverting American sovereignty.
The media hated it .. because Trump called out all the LEFTY organizations and government employees who did nothing but “dis” the USA, and promote all the criminal, illegal and terrorist organizations.
The whole speech was a REBUKE OF THE LEFT - THAT’S WHY THE MEDIA WAS WHINING ABOUT IT - THEY WERE BEING EXPOSED - AND OF COURSE THE TRUMP VOTERS LOVED IT.
Re: “Divisive”
I watched Neil Cavuto conduct three or four interviews after the speech. He asked each one, “Some are saying this was a divisive speech. What do you think?”
The next guest would come on after a commercial break, and he’d ask: “So, this has been called a divisive speech. What do you say to that?”
This is how the media controls the news, rather than gathering it.
It’s also why I didn’t watch Cavuto conduct five, six, or seven interviews.
bkmk
My first reaction while listening to the speech was:
This is George Effing Washington!
Only I wasn’t so polite.
