One day he appears to be completely rational and highly principled, but the next day he behaves like a spoiled brat who can't accept the fact that fewer people attended his inauguration than Obama's.

I don't think characterizing him as a "spoiled brat" is fair, or accurate.

It's my recollection that he objected to the publication of misleading photographs of the crowd in order to make the number of attendees look much smaller than it actually was.

You are right, it was significant, as it was part of a concerted effort, through numerous news stories (such as the Russia BS) designed to make Trump’s support less than it is and to make his election illegitimate to the low information types and decrease his political power. If not now, as time goes on and the weak-kneed Pubbies can’t take it any more. Hitting back every time keeps that from happening. Some can’t understand it. Some thought Bush did a great job.
