Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto said he rejects and condemns U.S. President Trump's plan to immediately begin construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.
In a televised address Wednesday night, Peña Nieto said Mexico "does not believe in walls." His voice rising, Peña Nieto repeated his promise that Mexico "will not pay" for construction of a border barrier.
Peña Nieto is facing considerable pressure from other Mexican leaders to boycott a planned meeting with Trump in Washington next week.

It is a stinging insult for that gringo Trump to make Mexico take its citizens back and then build a wall to keep them there!
I heard that Mexico wants a better wall on its southern border!
If we sent 30 plus million of our poorest to Mexico and made demands on it, like it does on us, Mexico would have balked in the 1990s.
Surely they knew this wasn’t going to fly forever.
Threats wont work on this president...keep it up Mexico..lol
Thank you Mr. President!!!
I love how the LA Times expresses pressure on Nieta, bu seems to forget the public in our nation chose Trump to build the wall and evict the squatters.
He is being short-sighted. If he had been willing to pay for it, there may have been room to consider Mexico’s legitimate concerns and still meet the US need for security.
It is still worth it to build it, even if the US has to bear the whole cost. However, if the US has to bear the whole cost, then there is no need to consider any concerns of Mexico at all. Just complete concern for US security.
Stop the EBT cards that put cash in the pockets of illegals which enables them to send billions back home to Mexico. Instead have them line up for boxes of food, cheese, pasta, flour, tuna, paper products, fresh locally-grown produce. That’s how it used to be done.
It wasn’t meant to go on forever, just long enough the the US and Mexico populations were so thoroughly mixed that you couldn’t have a border or the US would have to accept large loss of land to get a border.
It was nothing less than an act of war part of Mexico.
Once the illegals are out of our Country, the Wall will pay for itself. Consider all the money that will remain with less illegals using our “free” services.
Yes, I agree.
Still, we had presidents who didn’t give a rip. And to this day folks still praise the fool on our side of the isle who joined in.
A have no tolerance whatsoever for people who stab us in the back, from our side of the isle.
He has to say that for political reasons in Mexico
My message to Enrique Peña Nieto is:
¡Es usted un hipócrita!
By any standard of decency Mexico’s treatment of its immigrants is deplorable. Don’t even get me started on the abuse heaped on its black citizens. Until they adhere to the standards they demand from the US, their complaints should be taken with amused indifference.
And, yes, they need to pay for the wall.
Take a percentage of outgoing payments to Mexico, C America, et al to pay for the damn thing
Less money to M or CA . . . Screw the B*******

We won a major battle in the war November 8th. Winning the war against the borderless globalist will be a long slog.
The Wall just got 10 feet higher!!!!
Illegals cost the US about 360 billion ANNUALLY. The cost of the Trump Wall has been estimated around 20 billion. This is a no brained.
I am reminded of my young boys that say No initially as well when told what they needed to do. In the end they do it. Mexico WILL pay for the wall. Else, lets see just how long they like being completely cut off from the US. About like US sanctuary cities, they’ll fold once faced with real costs.
The cartels put a horse head in his bed the night before.
