All the corruption and sediment has to flush out sometime. Given enough time, just about every “bad” situation would come to some degree of correction. Even without additional taxes and regulation, most of which have no appreciable effect anyway.
Maybe people will adapt to the heightened levels of lead ions in their water. That way, when levels do rise, they shall not be negatively affected. In fact, a lead deficiency may impact their health.
This was, to be honest, a very serious story to me from the beginning because lead poisoning makes you stupid. Literally. And an entire population center had been adversely affected.
But I was just having fun with the timing. ;-)
