A former Navy sailor imprisoned for taking photos inside a submarine has sought a pardon from President Donald Trump, who, as a candidate, often cited his case as unjust.
Supporters of Kristian Saucier, 29, say the one-year sentence he drew last summer was overly harsh in light of treatment afforded former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton over her illegal private email server, and former President Obama’s granting of clemency to Army Pvt. Chelsea Manning, who leaked classified information.
Saucier's attorney, Ronald Daigle, told Fox News that he met with Trump's national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, about Petty Officer First Class Saucier’s case, and at Flynn’s request submitted a formal pardon request.
Daigle said the punishment didn’t fit the crime.

He may have a case. Hillary’s situation has set a precedent.
Off Topic; The article I saw showed a nice family picture. It would be a shame to take this toddler’s dad over something that may not be as critical or deliberate as first thought.
At very least, perhaps his case can be reviewed.
There are probably many such cases that have gone under the radar, because the victim wasn’t a PC interest group member.
It depends what he was photographing and what he should have known to be off limits.
I suspect the sentence was probably a fair one, since he only got a year. Depending what he photographed, he could have easily gotten 5 years.
He’s either got to go after Hillary, or let this guy swim away.

No punishment at all doesn’t fit the multitude of Hillary’s crimes either.
Far less than Hillary and Huma did.
He didn’t get a pardon, I read that much.
I’d like to see Lt. Col. Lakin be reinstated and get promotions and back pay (like Bergdahl did and without justification IMO.)
His reason sounds stupid. So his future children could see what he did aboard the ship?? I never saw what my dad did as a medic in the army and I survived.

Hillary definitely needs to serve some time, more than just one year. But I am not seeing an argument here that this guy did nothing wrong.

Maybe some clemency- 6 months. But, I don’t even favor that.
My problems - he sure as hell was told more than once he should not be photographing anything.

His lawyers filed a motion ti dismiss because they claim that he can’t get a fair trial because Trump said mean things about him on the campaign trail

McCain was a Commander when he returned, but he did get out of the Navy as a Captain, IIRC.
Why didn’t Obama pardon Bergdahl? Very strange.
