Commies blacklist people and it’s “power” but main street America blacklists Commies and it is a horrible sin in this nation’s past. Yeah, right.

Hollywood didn’t blacklist the Commies, screenwriters worked under pseudonyms, the fake names were to throw off Red Channels and those calling for boycotts.

The government did not create the blacklists, Red Channels was a private publication.

The government did not create the blacklists, Red Channels was a private publication.

I have a copy of Red Channels: The Report of Communist Influence in Radio and Television (New York: American Business Associates, 1950). In addition to listing Communists and fellow-travelers in the media and entertainment industry, it recounts how Communists created their own blacklist of non-Communists.
