Beijing has deployed advanced Dongfeng-41 ICBMs in Heilongjiang Province, which borders Russia, according to reports based on images, possibly leaked to coincide with Donald Trumps inauguration as US president. Pictures of China's Dongfeng-41 ballistic missile were exposed on Chinese mainland websites, the Global Times said citing reports in some Hong Kong and Taiwan media. Russian news agencies identified one of them as the Apple Daily, a Hong Kong-based tabloid-style resource.
It was revealed that the pictures were taken in Heilongjiang Province. Military analysts believe that this is perhaps the second Dongfeng-41 strategic missile brigade and it should be deployed in northeastern China, the report in the Chinese daily adds. The Global Times works under the auspices of the Peoples Daily, the official newspaper of the Chinese Communist Party, though the former tends to be more controversial.
The DF-41 is a three-stage solid-propellant missile, which is estimated to have a range of up to 15,000km and be capable of delivering up to 10 MIRVed nuclear warheads. China is yet to show the ICBM to the general public during a military parade or any similar event. Most information of the advanced weapon remains highly classified.
There is speculation that China plans to deploy at least three brigades of DF-41s throughout the country. The image leak may have been timed with Trumps inauguration, with the new president expected to take a confrontational stance towards China, according to the Global Times report.
Before taking office he angered Beijing by threatening to end the One China policy, which acknowledges continental China as the only Chinese nation and rejects Taiwans claim to be one. He also said he would pressure Beijing on economic issues like its monetary policy and trade barriers.

Why would an ICBM have to be deployed to a border? It’s an ICBM.
One advantage the province in NE China, a.k.a Manchuria, is mountainous. From what I read the Chinese like the build silos into mountains.
Just add this ICBM in road mobile. Sound my mountain silo theory is shot although the ChiComms might build mountain side bases to house the mobile units.
Send the Seventh Fleet to cruise through the South China Sea... slowly.
Itll be very interesting to see what Putin does about this, if anything...
A 9,300 mile range strategic weapon doesn’t need to be near a border in the range of SOF units.
It’s a target.
Move the targets away from population centers as far as possible..................
It is estimated that China has only 300 nuke warheads.
Both the US and Russia have 1500 in proven intercontinental delivery systems.
To a border? No one does that.
It’s out in the middle of nowhere.....................
So the Chinks are comfortable enough with the Ruskies, of which they still have contested borders, to put strategic weapons near? That's what I was getting at.
That’s what I was thinking.
The Russians probably don’t care. They can wipe out any of the Chinese missiles fairly quickly in the even it becomes necessary................
Actually, it is a very astute move on the Chinese part.
If the US tries to take these ICBMs out, it will not be immediately apparent if its an attack on Russian or Chinese territory. So taking them out might bring about retaliation against the US from BOTH Russia and China.
The only problem is that Putin may not like that game.
China could not get a missile off the ground without blowing up.But thanks to bill Clinton taking their bribes he was able to get Loral to solve there issues for them.
Now we not only have Russian nukes to worry about we have Chinese as well.
Look at Heilongjiang province, everywhere else in China is closer to everything in Russia that youd need to hit, rather than that place they moved the ICBMs to. It only makes sense for targeting CONUS.
Its not an anti Russian move.
