WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump told leaders of companies ranging from defense manufacturer Lockheed Martin Corp to sportswear apparel maker Under Armour Inc on Monday that he believed his administration could cut U.S. regulations governing companies by 75 percent or more.
In a meeting with about 10 senior executives at the White House, Trump also reiterated his pledge to impose a hefty border tax on companies that want to import products to the United States after moving American manufacturing facilities abroad. But, he added, those that want to set up factories in the United States will see quick approvals to build.

Apparently Elon Musk was one of the 10.
Monday morning winning in action....
“75 percent”
A good start.
Yeah- now, about that other 25%....
THIS will be real economic stimulus.
Talked to our car mechanic the other day. He is as near perfect at his trade as one can get. Works very very hard and always slammed with customers.
The regs are choking him almost to the point of quitting. Insurance is the Fed dagger poking out between his shoulder blades.
While this may sound wacky on the surface, in perspective, it might actually be possible.
For example, the IRS tax code is 74,608 pages long.
In 2014 alone, Obama issued some 70,000 pages of just *new* regulations.
Though hard to find a summary, the EPA has regulations in the millions of pages.
Add up the other major regulatory agencies, and you are talking *forests* of paper. And the overwhelming majority of these regulations are frivolous and could be dispensed with.

On top of this, there are mountains of expired, outdated and unused regulations that just stay in the system because of inertia. The government doesn’t use them, but still demands that the people must obey them.
So, as has been often the case, when President Trump says something that *on its surface* seems outrageous, and is attacked by the media for it; invariably, a short time later he is proven correct and accurate.
The regulatory wet blanket has stifled America long enough.
