Seems like McConnells line in the sand is the scotus.
Good for him and good for us
Here are the facts and reasoning:
1. Mitch has no more excuses because now there’s a Republican President.
2. Schumer is on record that he will block the President’s ‘conservative’ SCOTUS nominees.
3. McConnell is on record in response to the question of whether he will go nuclear on the President’s SCOTUS nominee that “the nominee will be confirmed”.
4. President Trump has chosen and welcomed Mitch’s wife Elaine Chao as part of his cabinet and she has accepted (masterful move).
5. McConnell has myriad precedent cases and acts to form a basis for causing the confirmation of President Trump’s conservative nominee to the US Supreme Court.
The above facts convey that a conservative justice will be confirmed to replace Scalia even if McConnell needs to change the rules and invoke cloture on a simple majority.
