Sorry. I’ve been watching too many of those Angry Public Meltdown videos on Youtube this weekend.
United fixed in 30 minutes. FR a little longer.
FR had one guy, United had a team.
Yes, I remember those old plane tickets too. A lot of carbon papers attached...lol. Don’t ever remember good food though:)
Your age is showing again. LOL. I was a flight attendant during that time and life in the air was wonderful. Great food, rarely lost luggage, etc.
About five years ago I got into a huge argument with a TSA agent in Kansas City. Vowed to never fly again until TSA is gone. Can tolerate the rest of the garbage but not them.
Now about my raise...
You were one of those hot youngsters that used to keep us business travelers fully involved, right? I remember a blizzard in Wichita where we blew off the runway during taxi and you guys let us steal the drink cart.
Then they introduced the first tough security procedure:
“Did you pack your own bag?” - Yes
“Has it been in your possession the entire time since you packed it?” - Yes
“Did anybody ask you to carry anything on?” - No
“OK, you can board.”
May well have been if you were flying on TWA. Travelers were always glad when we got out of Kansas because it was a dry state in those days. As I remember we usually had the same core group of guys traveling on business every week. Saw pics of their wives and children, heard about their boss, knew which magazine they preferred, etc. Fun part of being one of the Coffee, Tea or Me gals. LOL.
“Exactly how are they going to test the fix?”
let a few of the flights take off, and if none fall out of the sky, then call it good ...

Instantly you would hear the "clanggggg" of five or six Zippo lighters and smell the lighter fluid, then the Marlboros.
