TRENTON -- Jon Bramnick, the Republican leader of the state Assembly, told NJ Advance Media on Tuesday that he's decided not to enter this year's race to succeed Chris Christie as New Jersey's governor.

Bramnick (R-Union), a close Christie ally who has been the Assembly's minority leader since 2012, said he will instead focus on running for re-election and increasing the number of Republicans in the Democratic-controlled lower house of the state Legislature.

The NJ GOP needs to run as far away from Stay Puft as possible. He’s damaged the brand in the state almost as badly as the execrable Democrat agent Christie Todd Whitman.

“focus on running for re-election and increasing the number of Republicans” , I am guessing in November GOP number will not have increased by much.

The NJ GOP is very weak right now. They may lose a lot of seats in the Assembly and the State Senate.

However, there is a bright spot. In 2018, corrupt Sen. Bob Menendez is up for reelection. A NJ GOP candidate could beat Menendez.

The last Republican New Jersey governor before Chris Christie (Christine Whitman) endorsed Hillary Clinton.

That's all you need to know about the Republican Party in New Jersey. A weak GOP in NJ is a good thing.
