WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Two senior Republican lawmakers on Sunday said they would vote to approve President Donald Trump's nominee for secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, despite their concerns over the former ExxonMobil chief's relationship with Russia's president.

"After careful consideration, and much discussion with Mr. Tillerson, we have decided to support his nomination to be secretary of state," Senators John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said in a statement.

"Though we still have concerns about his past dealings with the Russian government and President Vladimir Putin, we believe that Mr. Tillerson can be an effective advocate for U.S. interests," the two senators, both senior members of the Senate committee weighing Tillerson's nomination, said in their statement.

Republicans are going to be in lockstep for a while. They need to show solidarity in the face of rat opposition. Win a few battles, win a war and then start looking towards your own priorities.

Expect a lot of wins, followed by a few periods when there will be debate meant for the constituencies. Then more wins.

Some people want to make every anchor baby with no allegiance to the US and Winston Churchill (American on his mother’s side like Cruz) eligible.

Paul and Rubio are still out there, I believe. But that still makes 50 plus the VP, and leaves Democrat Manchin to spare.

Interesting point... McCain is dirty as hell. Bush and the Democrats both have gotten him to dance their tune, but anyone else could lock him up so easily... especially since he leaked FBI documents.

His parents were still Cuban nationals at the time he was born.
Children of foreign nationals inherit the nationality of their foreign national parent(s). Obama was born a British subject because of his Kenyan father , he is not a natural born citizen.
One is only a natural born citizen when one cannot be anything else.
In the unlikely event Rubio’s parents had returned to Cuba, he would have been a Cuban citizen.
He is not a natural born citizen.

While there’s more than a little schadenfreude in assuming that to be the case, I hope it isn’t. Keeping such “dossiers” private for the purpose of what is essentially blackmail is not right. Such “dossiers” should be made public immediately. Voters have the right to know just who and what they’ve elected. If they’re dirty, out with them as far as honest people are concerned.
