One of the BEST books I’ve ever read, for the historical understanding it gave me, is “George Washington’s Sacred Fire” by Peter Lillback. Secular historians have tried to say that Washington was a Deist, but Lillback shows that Washington was a man of Christian faith. The book is a thick one and written in George Washington’s words, what he wrote as he led the Army, as he led our nation, and as he watched as other men followed in his footsteps. It’s not an easy read, but I can tell you, when I finished, I had every confidence that Washington was God’s man, enabled if not ‘sent’ to found this country. It totally changed my feeling about politics, politicians & I have every respect for those who left their lives and family & put it all on the line to found the country. I have to say, that while I suspect Trump’s faith will become more comfortable (& a comfort) to him as he grows in it, I do feel that he is a modern era Washington. Like Washington, he’s a big man ... physically, and in word/deed as well as, I believe, being exactly what the country needs at this time in its history.
Franklin Graham and others have said that it was God’s hand that helped Trump get elected and I believe it. Trump, leaving all he’s built/accomplished in his personal life, as the Founding Fathers did, for the founding/service to their country, is the selflessness we need again in this country by those who would lead/govern it - I pray Trump will be successful.
Thanks for the book recommendation, Qiviut. 1438 pages! I got the Kindle version, I will give it a try!
Other forces at work as well, sounds like a great read.Im re reading Dr. Michael Sala’s book. It’s riveting if you have a history that can correlate and match historical claims he makes. We’ve been played for 80 years.
