Trump Transition Team on Reports of Chaos: We Got This

Trump officials say they’ve got it all in hand, or will soon.

“I want to personally again thank Ambassador Rice and her entire team for their preparation: the transition materials… that they’ve provided to us, the initiation of various NSC reform measures that she has already undertaken, and the time that she and her team took to help guide us and to help us be as well prepared as we can be prior to inauguration day,” said incoming National Security Adviser Mike Flynn, sharing the stage with Rice on Jan. 10 at the U.S. Institute of Peace’s Passing the Baton event celebrating the peaceful transition of power in Washington, D.C.

The reform he’s referring to includes the shrinking of the NSC from a high of 400 or so staff to fewer than 200 today—a change enshrined in the latest defense authorization bill to keep the national security staff from ever ballooning again.

“The NSC, particularly under this administration, though under Bush as well, has micromanaged decisions by Cabinet members as well as senior uniformed officers,” said a senior Hill staffer who worked on the legislation, speaking anonymously in order to discuss contentious debates.

Previous Obama NSC staffers say Obama was so detail-oriented, and so distrustful of some of his Cabinet members, that he had his staff questioning the smallest details.

Is this from the same media that told us the Trump/Pence election team was in “chaos” every day leading up to the election?

Keep in mind that Trump’s management style is to have his team members positioned to be at odds with each other in a kind of healthy competition.

This would appear to be “chaos” to an outsider but it works well for Trump in that such internal struggle produces the best ideas and results.

I have no corporate experience, so this is an honest, dumb question:

Is the reported *chaos* a method for preventing the outgoing administration from passing disinfo to particular individuals or attempting to compromise them?

I wouldn’t trust these zer0 guys. The article implies a small, tightly-controlled staff actually performed the work of the Cabinet in what sounds like a paranoid administration. Maybe Trump and Pence want multiple evaluations and keep switching up transition staff in order to accomplish that?

zer0 never struck me as a micro-manager, to say the least. So who exactly was the NSC reporting to?

And what’s up with mentioning Christie’s staff? This is confusing. Maybe it’s normal and my ignorance is showing?

If there is chaos, thank the Democrats for being nothing but obstructionists!

Obama was a micro-manager in that he demanded that everyone in his administration march in Liberal lockstep.

‘Detail oriented’? Why does this not ring true?

‘Distrustful’ The won chose these cabinet persons; seems a bit paranoid if unable to trust the people he put in charge of bringing down our nation. He trusts others no more than we trust him.

If there is one thing we learned from the old Get Smart tv show it was that KAOS had better employee benefits than Control.

At last, a straight news report gets posted on FR! Hallelujah!

Personally, I’ve been starving for some straight news and interesting biographies, on FR.

Thankfully, this was N E W S, and not just one more pants on fire opinion piece circling the drain of some danged offense or event.

This was informative, it was interesting, and with quotes! The texture seemed to mostly come from those interviewed and was not a one sided opinion s&^+ storm.

Best of all, following this article, is the political biography of wonderful Steven Miller, who is young and just now old enough to run for the senate, where he worked in research for Jeff Sessions and made Sessions shine.

Wish I could post Miller’s column, written by another columnist at Daily Beast.

I now have dailybeast on my favorites bar. People read the Daily Beast. They are going to be fascinated hearing about all the brains running throughout the Trump administration.

Thank you, for posting a little in depth around here.
