But if Sanders decides against running in four years, Warren—in a political climate with a jarring scarcity of true progressive leaders—could have a chance to climb back up the progressive ranks and possibly serve as the movement's best chance to finally take the White House. . .

Dems, the party of the future....

There you go: the inbred ossified bureaucracy. That’s it.

Honest, hardworking people are the backbone of any successful business or government. Trouble is, many of these government departments don’t have a valid mission.

Imagine having 17 intelligence agencies! Lots of opportunity to trim there.

In the private sector, people have been forced to specialize and be efficient through better training, software, and internet reducing of middlemen.

In the federal government, this revolution has not really taken place yet. The software companies know that selling to government is a gold mine because the government doesn’t spend its money wisely. This is why Microsoft, Google, and Oracle just love the government.

Plus the bureaucrats have been feathering their nests for a very long time. So Trump will find lots of useless mud holes where the swamp gators live. All Trump really has to do is stop the water supply and the gators will be forced to pack up and leave.

When I read stuff about Zuckerberg being mentioned as a contender I thought it fit the basic profile of somebody they’d look to as their next guru. They don’t want a traditional POTUS, they’re seeking out a guru.

The DEMS/LIBS, being totally without any ORIGINALITY, will be looking for a Wealthy Transgender Businessman/woman who wants to do a TV show called "THE SORCERER's APPRENTICE" during the next four years. The show will involve black magic and child sacrifice. Hollywood will pump it as the GREATEST SHOW IN EARTH, outshining the RINGLING BROS CIRCUS, and then in 2020 he/she/IT will run for President.

The reason Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Facebook love the Deep State is that each has multi-billion contracts with the NSA, CIA, and 15 other “intelligence” agencies to fork over the information they collect on 330 million Americans/7 billion humans.

Without these payments, Amazon and Facebook would show losses, and Google and Microsoft would lose their single biggest customer. That’s the reason these companies emerged as the big winners in the internet. Further, Amazon is putting brick and mortar stores out of business, who mostly vote and support Republicans, at least the smaller mom-pop stores.

Yeah, and they won’t mind too much if it plays a lot of golf.

CHELSEA?

Total non-starter. Ugly and clueless.

Some illuminating thoughts there. Trump will deliver the level playing field. No more special advantages over mom and pop stores.

I think it’s a mistake to say that these greedy firms delivered the benefits of the internet. Collectively they have made the internet a worse place with their spying, endless advertisements, and commercialization of our free communications networks.

We need better rules to protect us from these net merchants who shamelessly reward their favorites and punish their opponents. Microsoft and Google and Facebook are as much a part of the Fake News as CNN and NBC.

The Free Republic is a good model for what the web should be.

I could have told her this would happen. She can’t do anything for them anymore.

Is there any way that he stops caucusing with them and just plays his own game altogether, perhaps by creating a de facto “Green” caucus in Congress?

It will be very difficult; Obama himself only won with a lot of white votes. 2016 must have been a nightmare for the die-hard adherents of the non-white coalition; even the third-party candidates were white.

Too true; the gnashing of teeth was primarily white women, though the media is trying to make it look like everyone who isn’t a white guy was upset. Obviously they weren’t, because many of them (especially Hispanics and white women, and even blacks in a better showing than Romney got) VOTED FOR TRUMP.

I suspect we’ll see more mulattos or mestizos going forward; the problem you describe makes it almost inevitable (in my mind). I certainly don’t see them running two whites in the top slots again, and they’ve already figured they need both genders. Now they’ll need to add a sexual deviant (though they are not big in numbers, they are vocal and have money); from their demonization of white guys who they accuse of single-handedly electing Trump (which they know is impossible), I suspect there will be no outreach to white guys going forward. Fortunately, I believe more blacks and Hispanics know they’ve been played; two months ago they could have elected her and didn’t.

I also think another lessons for the Dems was that they couldn’t protect Hillary in public discourse the way they did Obama (by simply saying if you disagree you’re racist); many people (including women) were quite comfortable watching her get publicly trashed by Trump. Her arrogant and condescending tone for the last 25 years made it acceptable, I guess.

“That’s the future of the Democratic Party,” Joe Scarborough, echoing Mika Brzezinski’s sentiment, said on Morning Joe Monday. “He sounds just as relevant today as he did a year ago.”

Yes, Bernie sounds just as relevant today as he did a year ago and Hillary does as well and this 0 is still a zero.

Harris will be the nominee, if Obama has anything to say about it.
