So, now that the drone swarming technology is perfected and ready for full application by the DOD. -- Do you see the potential for applications by civilian law enforcement?
1. Buzzing overhead rioter? 2. Buzzing overhead during high risk search warrants? 3. First responder to escalating situation? 4. Active shooter?

Send a swarm around people they want to arrest and if one of the drones gets “attacked”; arrest or “incapacitate” the offender.

This signals the end of the firearm as a useful tool to prevent, say, government oppression.
We are, indeed, terribly screwed.

Strategies deployed as in the movie “Enders Game” may have other purposes besides beating an unbeatable foe?
To: Oz8509338511
Combat zone where enemy combatant is hiding amongst women and children.
If the drone is inexpensive enough, one drone can directly attack a target, destroying both drone and “terrorist”.

"This signals the end of the firearm as a useful tool to prevent, say, government oppression." I don't see how you draw that conclusion. Any active resistance to oppression will be a guerilla action, with snipings, assassinations, and other forms of resistance. How is a swarm of small drones going to negate those??
Besides, those look like great trap targets.

Swarm of drones can be used as flying security guards for a large self-driving truck convoy.

People will have drones of their own, which will run into and crash swarm drones.

Remember the key here is that in the swarm the drones coordinate their efforts and movements with each other. It would be too easy for an “enemy drone” to be taken out before the entire swarm of 100s are all taken out. Not only that it is very easy to keep adding 100 more to the swarm to join the “fight”.

Black market importation of the best jammers in the world made by Russia - will be huge market should this take on civilian roles.
