John Lewis wrong on whether he skipped an inauguration before Trump (PolitiFact gives Pants on Fire)

The back-and-forth between President-elect Donald Trump and civil rights leader Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga., dominated news coverage over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend.

It began on Jan. 14 with an excerpt from an interview that Lewis did for NBC’s Meet the Press, in which he said that while he believes in forgiveness, "it's going to be very difficult" to forge a relationship with Trump. "I don't see this president-elect as a legitimate president."

In his Meet the Press interview, Lewis underlined the importance of his concerns about Trump by saying, "It will be the first (inauguration) that I miss since I've been in Congress. You cannot be at home with something that you feel that is wrong, is not right."

Some readers asked us whether this was true. It turns out that it is not.

If Politifact can’t even bail Lewis out, he sure is in deep.

He either doesn’t remember what he did 16 years ago or he’s so used to lying and having the MSM cover for him he doesn’t care.

This is actually sad. I’m sure old John is completely in “I say what they tell me to say” mode. “They,” of course, being young white pencil-necked geeks in the Democrat marketing department.

Lewis is not just wrong, he LIED. He is a proven liar and Lewis has a long pattern/history of lying. Lewis is unfit to hold public office.

But given his constituency he will remain in Congress. He will keep that seat until he dies.

Lewis, who sees Trump’s Nov. 8 win as oopportunist often do, will continue his bald face lie that Russia interfered in the election, for the sole puroose of fund raising and will continue to seek new manufactured issues thst harmonize the synthetic aspects of oppression by the cracker aka “Blue Eyed, White, Devil” to guilt trip him for the privelege of being white while Lewis and “His People” who carry their mark of Cain, or as the Mormons say “Laminites to the bitter, with a goal of self serving interest, demonstrated by his accumulation of wealth, while making vacuous claims of all sorts, knowing he is a man of little a accomplishments.

Lewis may be known for leading civil rights protests in the 1960s, including the 1965 march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Ala., in which state troopers brutally attacked the crowd.

What is curious is that the very people who beat him and others that day or were giving orders to such were Democratic Luminaries such as Bull Connor, George Wallace, ef al.

When the bill came before the full Senate 18 southern Democratic Senators and one Republican Senator launched a filibuster to prevent its passage.

It began with Senator Russell a Democrat of Georgia: “We will resist to the bitter end any measure or any movement which would have a tendency to bring about social equality and intermingling and amalgamation of the races in our (Southern) states.”

Really? You Asshole....

I am sure you’re right, but fortunately, he is 76 and it appears his only exercise is occasionally walking across a bridge. ;>)

It’s part of the lib pathology. Objective truth is irrelevant to them. What counts is pushing a narrative, even if it’s a fiction.

Think Hillary and her fake Southern accent. Hillary and her fake story of trying to join the marines. Hillary and her fake story about her being named for Sir Edmund Hillary.

I’ll bet Politifact didn’t want to give that rating to Lewis. He is Untouchable with the Fake News Media.

A person isn’t “wrong” when they say they did something they didn’t do. That is called lying.

There is a difference between being wrong, and outright lying. Lewis is a liar. He didn’t make a mistake. He’s a liar.

John Lewis has taken himself out of the opportunity to truly help the urban blacks that he says he cares so much about. What a shame. He is first and foremost a democrat so he is blind to reality. We pray that this new president will bring back jobs for all so that we can once again be a united America and work for the good of this great country under the guidance of God almighty.

Lewis skipped not only George W. Bush’s first inauguration in 2001 because he questioned the legitimacy of that election, he also skipped Bush’s second inauguration in 2005. (In 2005, Lewis also supported the idea of impeaching Bush.)

How can Lewis truly claim to have forgotten which Republican inaugurations he has been to, if he’s only attended one in his life?
