Donald Trump to Use Lincoln Bible for Inauguration Oath of Office

President-elect Donald Trump will swear in as president on a Bible used by Abraham Lincoln during his first inauguration as president.

The Lincoln Bible is currently part of the Library of Congress collection and was used by Obama to swear in as president after the 2008 and 2012 elections. Only Obama and Lincoln have used that copy of the Bible to swear the oath of office.

If you use two..such as Lincoln and your own..then you get one of your own for your Presidential library since you can’t take Lincoln’s bible.

On a personal note, I think I would use my mother’s Bible, but that’s because of its personal connection to me. As for Trump, there are many advantages to using Lincoln’s Bible as listed by others here, and no disadvantages, so I have no qualms whatsoever with the choice.
