Oh how I hope that this is true. The key to cutting spending is cutting federal workers. As long as you have millions of federal workers, they will figure out a way to spend money.

Precisely right. They are very creative when it comes to dreaming up new projects and then growing them into massive federal programs. There is never enough money for the voracious bureaucracy. It’s all about them; not the citizens.
I’ve always thought that instead of encouraging pork barrel spending so a rep can justify his or her reelection they should pay a commission to the Congressional districts that reduce the most waste, so instead of getting a spending bill passed with your pork project in it you eliminate a billion in waste to get your district 10 million
The nice thing about real layoffs, is that under civil service seniority rules, the last hired would be the most vulnerable.
So everybody hired during the Obama administration could potentially be eliminated.
The richest ZIP codes in the country are clustered around Washington DC... Not only are there too many government parasites, but they pay themselves VERY WELL.
