Arizona -(Ammoland.com)-
The Industry Day at the Range is only open to media by invitation. I have been fortunate to be able to attend the last three or four. It seemed that attendance was down a bit this year from last.
The weather was nicer last year, warmer, but both years had a bit of a breeze.
It is always interesting to see the latest tech that is being offered. I have found that taking the shuttle bus from the Palazzo is worth while. Parking is limited at the Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club, which generously allows use of its facilities for the Industry Day at the Range. There were several hundred attendees, but I did not do a count.
I bumped into Dave Workman, always a pleasure, and Brian Johnson from Ammoland in line, waiting for the shuttle. Right behind us was a group of three Canadian media people who had to go through a few hoops because they were digitally oriented. That is, all their paperwork was digital. Fortunately, one of them had brought a business card. The Shot Show is serious about who is allowed at their events.
I got into a friendly conversation with the Canadians. In my attempt to aid international relations, I allowed as how Prime Minister Trudeau must have some redeeming qualities. I mentioned that he was generous to a fault; the Canadians noted that it was with other peoples money. I mentioned that he was considered attractive; they countered that the womens vote was the only reason he was in office.

Industry day at the range is always a good time. You can rely on finding some international points of view. Las Vegas is a good place for the Shot Show.

Attendance was down a bit? I guess with Trump’s election we have reached “peak ammo/peak firearm.” At least for now.
I expect prices to fall.

To: marktwain
I’m jealous. I couldn’t make it this year.
To: marktwain
I’m holding down the range while my SASS compatriots are there.

His undying attachment to his Indy jones hat is disturbing. We all should be so stylish.
To: Tijeras_Slim
Yeah, the juxtaposition of the 1932 headgear and the brown 2017 tennis shoes is simply breathtaking.
To: Lord Castlereagh
Did you take a wrong turn on the way to the GQ forum?
To: Tijeras_Slim
Weren’t you the one who pined for “stylish”????? It sure wasn’t me.
To: Lord Castlereagh
Good point, but then again my Stetson clashes with my El Paso Saddlery carved two gun rig something awful.
To: Tijeras_Slim
My brother has an El Paso rig for his S&W 4506... Gorgeous.
To: Lord Castlereagh
You need good leather to hold up a 4506... lightweight they are not.
Glad to see the thread is back to guns... fashion commentary is a bit out of place here.
Cheers.
To: Tijeras_Slim
Ahhh, a man in the know. I, too have a 4506; my brother raved so much, I had to bite. To me, the gun is flawless EXCEPT for its Tiger tank-like weight.
To: Lord Castlereagh
NM State Police carried them for years. Of course, the chances of having to make a water rescue is rare here, so they were safe.
Had a Smith 4586 which was the DAO version, had a lot going for it, but alas I could not shoot it well. Moved over to Sig P220s.

That “water rescue” line is FUNNY...

Why the Arizona ‘dateline’?

In my neck of the woods prices have gone up noticeably since the eleftion. 5.56 has gone up to about 49.25 cents a round, up from about 20 cents over the summer. Sheer craziness.

No complaints about grammar or spelling.
Style complaints are a step up in the world.
