Women played a pivotal role in the civil rights movement, King said, and so it all begins as does life begins in a womans womb.

Yes, an older article. But I see Bernice is being interviewed on a syndicated talk show with four or five black women. “The Real” is like a black version of “The View”. I wonder if these ladies will ask Ms. King about the subject.
I am old enough to remember the days when Jesse Jackson would rail against abortion as “genocide against the black race.”
Then the Democrat Party got hold of him, and got his mind right.
Sometimes there is a type of common sense in the traditional black family that is really refreshing.

Check your gametes. Her statement seems pretty unimpeachable to me. The male substance isn't life, any more than a bolt is a car. It needs to be combined with other elements before it's a car.
I guess you could quibble and say that life begins in the Fallopian tube; but to continue the auto analogy, that's really just an on-ramp to the womb.
