He said it was a mistake and the IC chiefs should apologize. I say it was intentional and that the very act of briefing it was to provide cover for cnn to broadcast it.
Trump truly should drain the IC swamp all the way down to manager level.
All one has to do is ask Christopher Steele (007-secret agent man) who wrote the dossier....where exactly he got the data? Then ask him about the folks who hired him to write the original piece....how they paid him (I’m willing to bet that he was paid outside of the UK, and avoided all taxation)....the Brit authorities might be interested in his deal and how it worked.
It appears to me that he was quite industrious: make it once, sell it many times.
I’m sure Buzzfeed and CNN are going to apologize any day now.
Michael Goodwin of the NY Post says it was a company called Fusion GPS who wrote the garbage. Some are suggesting it was paid for by either Mitt or Jeb.
I think in the end, the media is going to end up with a vast amount of egg on their face. Up there with the Hitler Diaries.
Bob Woodward’s father was a conservative Judge in Du Page County (where I live in IL). Wheaton, IL where Woodward was raised, is a couple of towns over from my Village. Bob Woodward spent five years in the Navy. He has little to nothing to do with his old pal Carl Bernstein anymore, and hasn’t for years.
Woodward is what I would define as a moderate Republican, who as he ages, is getting more conservative. One of these days, he’ll turn into his father, lol. Here is a tidbit from WIKI about Woodward:
“Woodward was born in Geneva, Illinois, the son of Jane (née Upshur) and Alfred Eno Woodward II, chief judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit Court. He was a resident of Wheaton, Illinois. And the rest, as they say, is history.
Fusion is just a company that picked up a couple of ex-Brit MI6 retirees and did contracts for foundations/banks/etc. Someone connected to Jeb’s group is the one who approached them. Jeb may not have been fully aware of the deal.
At this point, I think Fusion GPS is finished and will have to shut down....emerge in six months as a different name. Brit tax authorities will be asking too many questions.

We sat together outside on my patio chewing the fat for several hours about political things and cabbages and kings.....until we noticed it was 1 AM ! It was a rather memorable evening for me and I think of it often when I see his son on TV.
I think his son, Bob Woodward, became liberally-tainted along the way, perhaps beginning in his years at Yale, most probably during his journalistic stint at the Washington Compost.
However, I agree with you, Flaglady....when I watch Woodward now on TV he is definitely moving more to the right. Perhaps some of the solid middle-west conservatism of his dad is in his genes and is slowly coming to the fore as he ages.
There's always hope.

Schmucky Schumer even warned or threatened Trump by saying that the CIA would get even with Trump. And I'm sure Obama was in on it too.
