Seems the reaction from the police was a little overboard. He seemed to be cooperating.
I know the Washington Post will enjoy this one. It’s more gas they can throw on the fire.
When I was younger lad, the police would stop me when things didn’t look right. No one screamed racism...

But something was wrong with the molding on his car, so he pulled out a metal bar to try to fix the strip on the roof, he says on the video.
A woman passing by saw him a black man, wearing a hoodie, with some kind of bar pressed up against a car
“Lawrence Crosby screamed whatever he could think of ... “
In my numerous decades of living, I’ve found screaming at cops always helps when things aren’t going your way.
Need to hear the full story, because of the set ups and faux hate crimes concocted by the loonie left. Here is the thing the police were responding to a CALL. If they pulled him over or found him and he was not cooperating then yea, they’re gonna put him on the ground. What’s so hard to understand about cooperate to certain people?
I'm willing to bet that the cops perjured themselves on the arrest report and the videos (especially the victim's since it is much harder to make disappear) is the only thing which saved him.
He begins to explain, but the officers order him to keep his hands up. Others scream at him to get on the ground.
Nice. Give contradictory orders so that no matter what he does he is disobeying and resisting arrest.
With more videos of actual police actions being shows - and not just those approved of by their public relations departments and lawyers - I have less and less respect for police. It is best to record every interaction with them, just in case.
The Liberal Media will portray the police as being racist and evil. They will also ignore the woman who called 911, because that would explain why the police acted as they did.
Im cooperating. Im cooperating, Crosby replies.
Ah, yes, the old yell "Stop resisting!" at the citizen while you beat him to jelly, ploy.
From Wikipedia:
Evanston was heavily Republican in voter identification from the time of the Civil War up to the 1960s. Nixon carried Evanston in the 1968 presidential election.[24] The city began trending Democratic and now almost exclusively identifies with candidates affiliated with the Democratic Party in elections on all levels of government.
In the 2004 presidential election, Democratic candidate John Kerry won 82% of Evanston’s vote. His Republican opponent and the nationwide winner, President George W. Bush, only won 17% of the vote in Evanston.[citation needed] In 2008, Democrat Barack Obama won approximately 87% of the vote in Evanston over Republican Senator John McCain.[25]
Agree with others, sounds like a SET UP. He likely didn’t do as told and threatened the police in other ways too. Cops have better things to do than just beat up on a cooperative person...just for fun.
This tape could have been interpreted a few ways. Therefore no one can get a solid idea what happened. So let’s play one of two games, either there is a limited police brutality as the individual was not harmed and required no reported medical assistance, or it was incorrectly reported from the post using Post Nation which is a Muslim hit rag from Canada that was banned from their Atlantic coast provinces.
The individual did right by stepping out of the car and taking a couple of steps toward the cops. But when they asked him to drop, he started walking behind the open driver side door which could easily be defined as attempting escape or not following the orders from the cops by just going straight down. I did not see the cops knee him and I couldn’t tell what the cop on the left was striking as it could have been the individuals holding of clothing or an arm of a cop which is what could have been determined to be not cooperating also.
This piece has a real chance of being falsely reported video to try to point out police infractions. From my eye, it was misreported enough to put it in question.

I knew a girl in college in Chicago whose father was a Chicago cop.
He saw a black guy trying to break into a Porsche with a coat hanger, and approaches. The guy said it was his car.
The cop’s response after seeing the driver’s license? “My Apologies, Mr. Payton.” True story. No rough stuff needed.
