You have to imagine the FBI....being handed some folder and some idiot saying it’s KGB’s dossier on Trump. So, what exactly do you do? Is there some law violated? Which law?
If you accept this dossier, and tomorrow...some other idiot shows up with another dossier on Harry Reid from some Chinese hacker, or a dossier on Hillary Clinton from some secret Italian surveillance organization....do you accept that one and investigate it?
This 007-secret agent man (C. Steele)....it just seems like he’s a contracted out guy to deliver something for someone...whether it is true or fictional. His reputation or brand-name at this point has spiraled down to almost zero. He might as well hang it and retire with the other 007-agents to some Pacific isle.

Ala Rush, that basically DID happen.
It appears when McCain first heard about it he was scrambling for a copy etc when one suddenly appeared available to him. He sent a ‘trusted aid’ to England(?) to pick it up and bring it back.
McLame took it Comey, Comey told McLame he already had a copy of it for quite a while and it was ‘worthless’.
I would have liked to be a ‘fly on the wall’ listening to McCain crying to his pals about not being considered important enough to ‘be in the loop’.
Anyhow, in essence McClain was dissed by the supplier for leading him to believe he had something, FBI & WH not keeping him in the loop.
I still say Trump should have ‘given’ him SoS or DOD, wait a decent amount of time and FIRE HIM - once his replacement is safely ensconced.
Also should have used the same method with Graham & Rubio.
