WTF IS SO GREAT ABOUT DIVERSITY!!!???

I’m of Italian Descent. EVERYONE in this neighborhood and half the Island is of Italian descent. (Of course I would get on just fine with any white ethnic group after they got used to my idiosyncrasies :))

What country has THRIVED with diversity!?!?! One?!?!

Bosnia? The Hutus and the Tutsi’? And on and on.

Self and also more or less forced segregation has ALWAYS been part of American history. If that weren't the case, there would never have been a "LITTLE ITALY","LITTLE HUNGARY" ( which when that sector moved uptown to the UES, embraced those from Germany, Hungary, Austria ), "CHINA TOWN" in Manhattan, nor GREEK TOWN, CHINA TOWN, LITTLE SCANDINAVIA, and the GERMAN sections in Chicago, etc.!

Peoples have been segregated buy ethnicity, religion, race, socio-ecomonic classes, and subsections of each of those things, either by regulations or design since colonial times.

OTOH, today, it is the self segregation by minority races, one religion, and political association, that is UNHEALTHY! OTOH....

FTA... The result is that, in the last 20 years, we’ve watched one of our major structures for diversification collapse without anyone taking notice. And because of how it’s happened, the process is also connected to job opportunities and economic opportunity for many working- and middle-class individuals, seeding resentment and hatred.
