Thank you for the posts! Ice storms are devastating.
Glad you have a generator. That is the one investment we should have made, because without power, we don’t even have water (on a well).
We do have a large, spring-fed pond, though.
Things will be fine.
I just hope people living in areas that normally don’t get this kind of weather are okay.

Righto on the well. Us too. Even with the generator, one eventually runs out of gas, so, I’ve been thinking about getting an auxiliary hand pump for really dire circumstances...
During the worst of it, my / our priorities were, after staying warm, intermittent power to: the well (and keeping the wellhouse from freezing up / breaking pipes), to the freezer, and to the sump pump.
That 2009 storm is rated by The Weather Channel as the 3rd worst in US history.

Thankfully, as of this morning, some NWS offices seem to be backing off slightly on predicted ice accumulations, this go-round...
