An Arizona trooper trying to help a motorist in a rollover crash was shot in an ambush-style attack by a random suspect, who was then fatally shot by a Good Samaritan driving by.
The trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) was at a traffic stop when he received a report about a driver whose car was shot at near a median at milepost 81 on Interstate 10, reported ABC15, an ABC affiliate in Arizona.
The trooper left the traffic stop to investigate this call when he came across a rollover crash and saw that a woman had been ejected from the wreckage.

I can think little more vile than attacking a cop trying to save a hurt women’s life. I hope he enjoys hell.
The suspect shot him at least once in the chest-shoulder area and fought the trooper to the ground.
A passerby saw the fight unfolding and stopped to render aid to the trooper, who asked for help.
However, the suspect ignored the Good Samaritan's orders to stop attacking the trooper.
That's when the passerby went to his car, grabbed a gun and fatally shot the suspect, reported ABC15.
score one for the good guys.
No description is usually a pretty good description.
Ping.
You mean a BLM feral dog?

IMO, it was monumentally stupid of the 'Samaritan' to step out into a live fire zone without his weapon -- and get so far away that he had to go back to get it.
The guy must have been totally untrained -- and/or carrying illegally...
Heck, even Texas CHL instructors teach not to do dumb stuff like that...
When the trooper began working to block lanes, a suspect came from an unknown direction and “ambushed” him, according to DPS.

The Trump camp needs to see a bit of REAL news. This works good.
I’d bet a cup of coffee the hero here is a senior.
Did it say what weapon was used? Maybe he had to get the 12 gauge out of the trunk?

Still should have armed up before entering the firefight...
Not "picking on" him -- just don't want to see good folks get themselves killed by not thinking tactically...
Good shooting, Citizen!
And .. I expect more and more of this passer-by assisting the police .. now that PE Trump has begun to highlight how our police are being killed so often.
And .. the public has seen the back and forth with a black liberal congressman who hung a picture on the wall in the Congress building .. and it depicts COPS as PIGS (and at the time of this incident, 2 very dedicated and accomplished BLACK OFFICERS were being shot (one male and one female).
Duncan Hunter was so upset, he took the picture down and took it to the guy in his office. And, as a former member of a police unit, I personally agree with Congressman Hunter’s decision to remove the picture.
Somebody needs to make the BLM FLAG really large, so we can see who supports the picture of COPS AS PIGS.
I wonder if Congressman Clay is suggesting he considers the two black officers as PIGS .. disgusting.
A senior and retired military.
CC
I got it right?...lol
Btw, there was a clue in the first report I read about this event.
If you have a link to the senior, I’d like to see it. Thanks!
That could be deadly bad advise. Not referring to this particular case, but if one encounters someone brawling with a cop, and they suddenly run up to them with a firearm, the cop might think you're an accomplice, or if backup suddenly arrives and you're standing there with gun in plain clothes, that might not turn out too well either. I don't know all the details in this case here, but when cops see and unknown person with a gun, in many cases they have absolutely no idea if you're a good or bad guy. Every case is different and ya gotta be careful.
1) The Leo on the ground was shouting for help.
2) The site was pretty much out in the middle of nowhere, and approaching LEO backup would have been visible far enough away to provide time to secure -- or ground -- his weapon, if need be.
Nonetheless, your points definitely are among those which much be weighed in such a situation. Thanks for sharing them...
