I love what you’ve done Julian, but this is a non starter for me. That confused little fruit Manning isn’t worthy.

Better idea.....

Put Manning in front of a firing squad.

Then FedEx the body to Assange in London.

So to speak....

The irony is hilarious. Manning steals a bunch of classified material and gets in trouble for it in protest of gay rights in the military. Had he had a little patience he could have been as LGTBQWERTY as he wanted to be under the Obama plan.

Assange isn’t wanted here. He’s wanted in Sweden.

Re: “Assange isn’t wanted here. He’s wanted in Sweden.”

Assange hacked into various USA government and corporate databases some years back, and bragged about it on various hacker websites.

I'm not sure formal charges have been filed, but Assange has avoided the USA ever since.

Sweden is/was, IMHO, acting at the behest of the US “intelligence community”. I believe they issued a warrant in 2010 then withdrew it the next day but the Interpol red notice was never withdrawn.

My bet, Obama pardons Manning and is seen as heroic by the left while leaving Assange for Trump to deal with.

Assange has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden. It'e easy to avoid the U.S. when you're literally avoiding everywhere.

To avoid extradition to Sweden to avoid extradition to America.

I’m not so sure they could convict Assange of anything...he’s a hero to many people so it might be hard to assemble a jury.

Manning should be let loose, time served. He got a much stiffer sentence than others and Hillary leaked more important secrets... and she got an important asset in Iran hanged.

To avoid extradition to Sweden to avoid extradition to America.

So to avoid extradition to the US he left Sweden (which doesn't exradite politicals to the US) to go to the UK (which does)

Re: “Assange has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London to avoid extradition to Sweden. It's easy to avoid the U.S. when you're literally avoiding everywhere.”

Assange has stated several times that he believes he can beat the rape charge in Sweden.

He has also stated he thinks Britain or Sweden will extradite him to the USA.

Assange has been an internationally known hacker since he was in high school.

During the Manning Trial, the prosecution claimed Assange helped Manning break several passwords, which would be espionage, which carries a life sentence.

No one is sure why the USA has not filed charges against Assange, but it would probably involve highly classified material which the USA would have to reveal in public at an extradition trial.

He’s wanted here too but I don’t understand how. He is not a US citizen and AFAIK did not commit any crimes on US soil.

Wouldn’t Australia have to extradite him to the USA? He is an Australian citizen?

Re: “Wouldn’t Australia have to extradite him to the USA? He is an Australian citizen?”

Seems unlikely.

The UK arrested Assange for extradition to Sweden because of the rape charge against Assange in Sweden.

Assange posted bail in London, then he sought sanctuary in the Ecuador Embassy.
