“PUBLIC DEBT”

I thought $18 trillion was stretching our capacity to deal with, but $29 trillion is truly shocking.

We can’t run red budgets any longer, either politically or financially.

We will until the economy is sparked by the tax cuts.

Then the growth will ease. Trump has a goal, and I think he’ll meet it.

That isn’t actual debt, that is the debt ceiling. Of course we will be doing our best to avoid those numbers. They are not set in stone as actual spending numbers.

I’m irritated too, but patient: they can’t pass everything all at once, so prioritize with a signature item up front, followed soon by addressing the deficit. As another said, it’s a ceiling - not a requirement; Trump can unilaterally start cutting spending as part of his job description.

The budget cut will be a HUGE fight, making killing Obamacare look simple & fun. A whole lotta Senators on both sides have an interest in keeping spending up.
