Without California, Trump would have won “da popular vote” (Snowflake lingo) by 2.5 million votes.

Well, that would solve some problems. All those actors who promised to leave if Trump was elected could actually do that and keep their mansions, too.

The entire thing was toungue-in-cheek. Hilarious to just say the last thing was.

And of course, it is also true, because without California Democrats are pretty much screwed in both the popular vote and electoral college.

Frankly, I’d just like to see California broken up into two states, north of Los Angeles.

There will be such and exodus of productive people and companies, and a tourist and consumer boycott of California so quick, the pinkos hippies and queers will beg to come back

Not until we build a wall around California to keep them in.

Please let the Northern California folks split off of California and make their own decision. Or, make the decision by county...

Maybe they will annex Mexico!!!

For defense purposes, we need the CALIFORNIA coastline. Silly idea.

Another thought, where would CALIFORNIA get their water?

If “California” is limited to the corridor from LA to Marin Counties, that may be OK. Throw in some deserts, if they want to join in. The US should hang on to conservative counties, ports and shipyards in San Diego, and the Mexican border region.

When California leaves, the border wall will get much longer. The have to pay their share of the national debt first before seceding.

California does not need to secede from the USA...all it needs to do is clear its voter rolls of the millions of illegal voters...that vote Democrat every election. Face it...both New York and California are no more politically fair & balanced states in the USA, when compared to the other 48 states!!! Why? simple illegal voters.....all Democrats!!! Actually, I do hope that California secedes from the USA...in two years it will be totally backrupt and have no one that works for a living in the entire state.

What needs to bring California to life again is th total political destruction of the Democrat Party!!! And...if I were POTUS, Trump or the RNC, I would begin working on cleaning off all illegal voters in the entire USA. I realize voting is a state controlled function...but, the RNC can put pressure on governors to cleanse the voting rolls for the upcoming 2018 Mid-Term elections...so that “We-The-People” can politically destroy the complete criminal Democrat Party!!!

I was born and raised there. I hated it. They have been threatening to leave for a long time.

Back in 1849 or so, there was a town, Rough and Ready, that did leave. Only for a week. When the drunken miners realized they could not celebrate the 4th of July, they voted to go back into the Union.

If you look at a map of the counties and how they voted, you can see that the majority of the territory voted for Trump. It was only the coast, SF and LA, and a few other dabs here and there.

If Trump cleans out the illegals and builds a good border, it will correct itself.

I read the NYT interview with Thiel that’s currently referenced on Drudge, and I think it’s bad for Trump supporters to even expose themselves to interviews where lefty libs frame the questions and the narratives in their own warped worldview - all you get is a barrage of negativity against Trump. Why expose ourselves to that? Let them stew in their own stunted worldview. What is that to me?

Apparently Thiel’s comment that “ … it would help Mr. Trump’s re-election campaign” was made rather tongue-in-cheek.

Why would one think that? Make the comment in a flat, matter-of-fact tone, because it's only completely, obviously, accurate.

I think it would be especially helpful to many if there were no dual citizenship between the Socialist Republic of California and the United States, and if visa applications were very strictly reviewed.

California has become an albatross around the USA’s neck, and Republicans and Trump especially. Why wouldn’t they want CA to secede? So we pay an import fee for its produce. Let them compete with Chile and other Latin American countries.
