PARIS (AP) -- France is partnered with the United States and Russia in a global battle against Islamic militants. Francs, not euros, fill the pockets of French citizens. Borders are so secure that illegal immigration no longer fuels fears of terror attacks or drains public coffers.

That is France as envisioned by far-right leader Marine Le Pen, a leading candidate for president in the spring election: no globalization, no European Union, no open borders. The nation is its own master.

This is what this year’s elections in Europe are all about. It’s not right versus left or rich versus poor. It’s globalism versus nationalism. Elitists versus the common man.

Don’t be surprised if the European Union collapses within the next five years.

Exactly: Russia sheds crocodile tears over ISIS attacks, but looks forward to benefiting from the political instability they cause while allying with and arming the lunatic Iranian regime.

The funniest thing is that the lunatic Erdogan in Turkey, who thinks he's the reincarnation of Suleiman the Magnificent, is allowing Turkey to be slowly enveloped by Russia: Bulgaria I think just elected a pro-Russian president thanks to Putin's meddling, Putin has secured control of the Caucasus and is now in Syria in force.

The Left hates nationalism because it fosters loyalty and good will that, at their best, unite a country and its people against the class warfare, racism, identity politics, and utopian ideology that are the Left’s stock in trade. Indeed, Communism, the animating international cause of the Left for more than a century, was repeatedly subverted or defeated by nationalism.

But the Iranians are paying cash — cash that can be siphoned from and diverted to Putin and his allies. The American and Israeli military will do most of the fighting against Iran when the time for doing so arrives.

Since the libs were so orgasmic about having the first woman US president, they must be equally thrilled at LePen becoming the first French woman president.

That is exactly right, it’s the reaffirmation of the treaty of Westphalia that created the concept of modern nationhood.

And people that bring up the specter of nazi type of nationalism couldn’t be more wrong. Today’s nationalism is defensive in nature not offensive. Nations simply want to protect themselves from invasions and reclaim their sovereignty.
