the resurgence of genuine journalism.
“Genuine journalism” is “Man Bites Dog.” But in any reasonably functional society, most of what actually happens is good, normal, routine.

If you restrict your attention, as “genuine journalism” does, to what is unusual you thereby restrict your attention almost exclusively to the negative. You read the newspaper, you do so with the understanding that you are reading about what does not usually happen.

If you are trying to program Watson, you should keep journalism out of its inputs until it “understands” that context.

An all-too-common example is the cop shooting the black man. That is a “Man Bites Dog” headline. It does not usually happen, but precisely for that reason it makes headlines when it does.

No. ‘Journalism’ of the sort practiced here involves a meme and the refusal to print/say anything that contradicts the meme.
