So it looks like Trumps tough talking about cleaning up the VA system was all a bunch of BS. “
So what’s really BS here is your comment. You have no idea what Trump’s planning and you don’t really know anything substantive about the appointee, so in truth, you’re just another John McLame pi$$ing on everyone’s leg. It may well be that this guy is a star who has been kept from making changes because of his boss. As for his not having appointed a “military person” to head the VA, I completely agree with his decision. It isn’t enough to want to care for our veterans, we need to have someone who has the skill set to actually fix what’s broken at the VA. Just how “effective” was General Eric $hitsticki? Answer: he was a disaster.
This guy has been Under Secretary for a year and a half, not the last 8 years. His resume' is impressive...all he's done is run large medical centers and hospitals.
If he doesn't make it happen - "You're Fired"
Yes, indeed. Shulkin looks to me to be a star.
He quit a $1.3 million leadership position in medicine to take the Under Secretary job at $170K a year.
We should be patient with Trump’s choice here. After all Trump has said about fixing the VA, do you think he would pick someone weak?
And as for choosing a veteran instead, that’s mostly symbolic. Pick competent people who get things done. Sounds a lot like the MSM BS: “Oh, Trump is totally qualified to be President because he was never in government before...” That’s already been proven wrong given what Trump’s done before he’s even been in office.
I would rather have a veteran health and medical expert run the VA — someone with a proven track record in that very complex field.
