Up until recent times it was a third world disease of places without adequate sanitation, places where people crapped in the streets. First time I ever heard of it in this country was in relation to those “Rainbow Gathering” festivals, the earthy enviro people who know so much better than us how things should be. They got it for the same reason. Now, of course, it’s spread to homosexuals who find it erotic to lick each others’ anus. But, it’s going to be “homophobic” to point out that their behavior created a vector for the disease to spread, and that they’d better stop behaving in that manner to avoid the disease.
