I live in northwest Illinois near the Mississippi river. The bald eagles are think here right now.

I live in Central Illinois, it’s the same here along the Illinois River.

We enjoy watching the eagles along the river where we live. Yesterday two eagles were raising a ruckus behind the house as DH was outside "test driving" his new cast iron skillet.
I don't know if they like the smell of bacon or not, but one flew right over his head, over our deck, and landed in a tree about 15 yards away. I was standing on the deck looking him right in the eye. He kept chirping and calling to the other eagle for a few minutes, then off he flew. That's never happened in the 30 years we've lived here.
