I think you misread or misinterpreted my comments. Pay particular attention to my last sentence. We’re in agreement there.
In a climate where some folk want to do away with the CIA entirely, I’m not there. I do think it does need to be restructured at least as far as the leadership goes, and as far as our agreement on the other issue too.
So, I do have mixed thoughts on the agency.
Lets face it, leading up to 09/11, our national security agencies failed us miserably.
Between the FBI, the CIA, and the NSA, there’s simply no way those flight school students should have been able to pull off what they did.
We had talked about airliners being used as WMDs here on this forum. Tens of thousands of people paid to do nothing more than study, run scenarios, and prevent attacks, and they couldn’t muster the win?
We still have a lot of work to do.

Could have misinterpreted your comments. Thanks for the clarification. Basically I think we need to get back to basics. As good as eavesdropping may be, nothing beats infiltration. We need more boots on the ground and less brainstorming that lets people on the watch list go on and do their doomsday projects because all they do it watch instead of stopping the bastards from doing their dirty work. I blame the FBI and NSA more than the CIA, but Brennan and all his buddies must be cleaned out lock stock and barrel.
I think the OSS was successful because of who headed it. Wild Bill Donovan was a recipient of the Medal of Honor as well as a very successful businessman. He was a rogue who did his work “His way” and was continually harassed by J. Edgar Hoover who felt his toes were being trod upon. Add to the later mix Casey and then the decline of the CIA under politicos. I hope and pray we are now on the right track with Trump’s appointments. Very little time will be necessary in order to tll where we are going, but in my book, we have nowhere to go but UP.
