A climatologist at Georgia Institute of Technology resigned from her post because she could no longer navigate the stifling political orthodoxy on climate change.
Former chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Georgia Tech Judith Curry announced her resignation in a blog post on Tuesday.
*snip*
Curry is known for her scientifically astute explanations of the uncertainties in climate science. Indeed, she has been attacked as "anti-science" by other researchers who repeat the rote "scientific consensus" that man-made global warming is a catastrophic threat to humanity.

And this is yet another example of how people protest things. PC protesters make noise and burn down things. Non-PC protesters simply resign.
GA Tech hates to see the $$$ go!
Hopefully she will have a bright future, after Trump is sworn in!

Truly heroic virtue, and I have nothing but respect for women like her!
saw her interview with Tucker. Told it like it is. Research can only get funded it supports and has supported Global Warming and how man has influenced temperature variation.... take notice Trump.
Climate bullies
Yuge bravo, Dr.Curry .. You deserve better !
I've read that the same sort of thing is happening in the world of physics. Professors who support string theory get tenured, and then promoted. Professors who doubt string theory get shown the door.
So much for healthy skepticism. It seems like we have regressed to a time before the Age of Enlightenment. Accept the establishment viewpoint, or get fired.
Amen.
Exactly.
Agreed. But part of me wishes that she would have stayed on. As a tenured professor, she had the freedom to make life difficult for the climate change toadies.
As it is, she will probably be replaced by a climate change toady. So it's one step forward, and two steps back.
Evert time I hear about the science being settled, I know they are not scientists.
Scientists know that science is never settled.
Science is all about challenging and questioning the accepted.
I believe it was Charles Krauthammer who said "If it is science, it is not settled. And if it is settled, it is not science."
The good doc is often wrong, but he hit this one out of the park.
As Max Planck said, Science advances one funeral at a time.
I have followed Prof Curry since she invited Steve McIntyre (debunker of much of paleoclimatology and disassembler of Michael Mann’s Hockey Stick) to give a talk at Georgia Tech in 2007. Judy Curry was everything you want in scientist: careful, measured, objective, open-minded and deeply knowledgeable and informed.
She has not gone far. I will continue to follow her blog posts.
I hope she lands somewhere where she can do her work.
Remember Climategate.
Remember Climategate.
Hillsdale College could probably find her a spot.
