A Republican congressman took matters into his own hands Friday and personally removed a painting depicting police officers as pigs that a colleague had allowed to be displayed at the U.S. Capitol complex.
I was angry, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., told FoxNews.com. Ive seen the press [reporting] on this for about a week or so. Im in the Marine Corps. If you want it done, just call us.
Hunter said he walked over to the artwork Friday morning with a few colleagues and unscrewed it. He then delivered it to the office of Rep. Lacy Clay, D-Mo., the congressman whose office had allowed the piece to be displayed...

More and more Latinos will go to the GOP in the next few years, the Structure of California may well change dramatically in the next two years!
Really ..?? Duncan Hunter Senior is SecDef .. I don’t think so .. the SecDef is General Mattis.
And .. since Mattis is not part of the Obama admin, he would not be on duty yet; however, Duncan Junior was, and did the right thing.
well the dude protesting is depicted as a dog.
That would be a great choice.
The only other person I have seen having any interest, is the current Mayor of San Diego. He’s done a great job cleaning up this City after the liberals got through making a mess of everything.
I have an older guy at work from Mexican family that migrated here legally, raised in LA. He said that LEGAL Mexican and Latino immigrants would be the saving grace against Muslims in the long run. They’re strong Catholics, and while the Dems have a lot of them now due to social programs and race bating, if it ever came down to a religious war, the Mexicans and Latinos will be on the Christian side.
You see a lot of American blacks convert to Islam, and even some leftist whites, but you don’t see a lot of Mexicans or Latino’s converting. My co-worker has a point.
The Left says they love these things. Hey, I like art too, but there should be some economic sense to it. Art should support itself, just like any other project.
I don’t see a ‘support the restaurant’ cause. Should we get government to support failing restaurants too? NO!
If the arts community was supportive of it’s lesser artists, their art would be seen along with ‘greater art’ and they would get a cut of the gate.
That’s true.
What bothers me is that these pop up around incidents where the officers had no other choice.
Then it’s protected because officers don’t use discretion. It’s political don’t you know...
There may be a place for this, but it sure isn’t in the halls of our highest government offices.
Clay is a black dim congressman from ghetto st louis. The story is a vote getter in his district. From the Post Dispatch:it was painted by former Cardinal Ritter Prep senior David Pulphus, and had been hanging amid hundreds of other paintings by high school art contest winners in a tunnel between the Capitol and House office buildings since June.
As usual, I agree with you : )
Well then, as usual I appreciate it.
Glad we can agree often.
I live in Duncan Hunter’s district. I am very proud of my congressman. I have seen this story several times today on the internet.
However, I am not aware of any local, San Diego media covering this story. Are any San Diego area freepers aware of any local press coverage of this?
The Perp
What’s the title of this piece... “Roll Em Up”?

Nope. I’ve not seen any local San Diego coverage. I plan to watch the local news at 11:00 PM.
My newspaper will be delivered tomorrow morning.
The San Diego newspaper has been busy covering Congressman Hunter’s current “scandal,” (real estate loans etc.)
