I think it's both. Trump has already “rounded up all the testicles” in the Senate and has them in a “lock box” on his desk. They are all scared $hitless that unless they go along, they will suffer a fatal “tweet” outlining some misbehavior.
“I am sure those Senators who may feel vulnerable in the 2018 midterms have been told if they stray from the Party they will be mercilessly primaried and will get ZERO re election support from the RNC and Trump.”
The 2018 elections have relatively few R’s at risk - the D’s have about 10 Seantors in states that voted for Trump. Likely a very big year for increasing the margin in the Senate - potentially going over 60 R’s.
Keep it up repubs. It will take consistent votes like this for quite a while for the people to begin not thinking of you as traitors to your electorate, capons, quislings, geldings and so forth. We are tired of your usual Kabuki games.
How laughably ironic this all is... Back in October, when Weird Timmy was oh-so-sure of ascending to the vice-presidency, he threatened to use the “nuclear option” to vote in Merrick Garland to the SCOTUS.
The dems can thank Dingy Hairy for this.
That pic of Dukakis was comically ineffective, but that one of Kaine borders on the bizarre. He comes across as one creepy POS.
To paraphrase an old commercial:
“Can You Hear Us Now?”
“narrowly”?
Very good news indeed. Seems the GOP got the message that they are in power and Trump won bigly.
It was a Christmas gift if I recall correctly.
With gifts like that.......
For those with a short memory, it was passed in the night by the democrats alone with a 50+1 type of vote. Budget reconciliation to pass, budget reconciliation to repeal.
Hang this vote around the necks of the red state rats up in 2018.
