A New Jersey soldier set to deploy to the Middle East in just a few months was met with violence when he traveled home to visit his widowed mother for the holidays.
U.S. Army Serviceman Austin Freni was reportedly attacked and brutally beaten by a group of young men while he was walking with his mother, Lori Freni, after the Mummers Parade in Philadelphia on New Years Day, NJ.com reported.
The attack was prompted, Lori Freni said, by the fact that her son was wearing his Army jacket, according to Fox 23. She said a group of 10 to 15 men walked by them making derogatory comments about the jacket, and then one of them took a swing at her 19-year-old son.
Immediately after, the rest of the group piled on top of Austin, she said.

(FACEBOOK) Me and his girlfriend tried pulling them off and they hit us, Lori Freni told the news station. We got hit in the face. She got thrown in the street.
The beat down left Austin in the hospital with severe injuries to his face hell have to get plates put in and his jaw and mouth will be wired shut for the next eight weeks, his mother said.
The soldier was slated to fight for his country in the Middle East in less than two months, though Lori said she doesnt yet know how the injuries will affect her sons deployment.
Were lost. Just complete disbelief, she said.

She told Fox she was prepared to sell her things to get her son home for the holidays when a kind stranger, inspired by her own experience with her Marine brother, paid for Austins ticket from Fort Benning, in Georgia.
The South Detective Division of the Philadelphia Police department told the news station the incident is still under investigation.
Their time is rapidly approaching if they keep it up.
No description of the assailants? That’s odd. Why would that be, I wonder?
New Jersey is one of the States where it is almost impossible to get a permit to carry.
Under current army regs, it is also almost impossible.
That could change under Trump.
Never saw it on the local Philly news and I check every morning
Prayers for this soldier’s recovery.
Maybe it was dark and ... no, wait ...
most likely Amish ....but I shouldn't paint with a broad brush...But if I were a betting man I'd go with the odds...../s
I’m willing to bet it will be left up to the states. Someone in Jersey is probably going to have to take them to court like the Heller case in D.C. But people can vote with their feet and destroy the tax base their.
[She said a group of 10 to 15 men]
Well, that certainly narrows it down to about 150 million to 200 million suspects.
Good job, media. Maybe “they didn’t identify as men.” /ObamaHellToAmerica
Philadelphia is 60% black, although the Mummers are mostly Irish.
Without a good description, how are good citizens going to be able to help arrest the criminals? Or, more importantly for the citizens, know when they might be in the presence of these thugs?
never live in a state where you cannot carry a reliable firearm with plenty of ammo. The article said there were some 10 to 20 attackers.
Find the sub-humans who perpetrated this crime and put their pictures on the front page and the opening story of the major news networks.
Family: Soldier attacked after Mummers Parade (Philadelphia, Pa.)

Bump....
A 15 to 1 fight... definitely not rednecks, as rednecks tend to fight more evenly matched.
The soldier and his family had just attended the Mummer’s Day parade ... which is a south Philly affair organized by mainly white social clubs and is appparently hated by “people of color” [as opposed to colorless people] because the costumes are considered racist since they are often loosely based on ethnic group stereotypical dress, sort of like the black Mardi Gras Louisianans do by dressing up as flamboyant “Indians,” only when they do it, it is apparently not considered racist.
Guessing the soldier was targeted by an angry ethnic gang away from the parade area that was too gutless to take on a bunch of beribboned feather-and-bead-clad whites, and wanted the odds skewed more in their favor.
There is only one kind of group that has that kind of pack mentality. No need to describe them. It’s like saying that water is wet. Trust your default instinct and you’ll be right more often than not.
But ... but ... the danger is that innocent aspiring rappers might be profiled! Better that a dozen white devils get their heads stove in than one saggy-drawered feral gets patted down by the police.
