Filibuster is undemocratic. One of those obsolete Senate traditions that died an unlamented death.
Democrats didn’t care about minority rights when they ran the show. Turnabout is fair play.
Republicans can quickly eliminate the filibuster for SCOTUS nominations and Democrats don’t have a leg to stand on.
That’s what political expediency does over adherence to principle.
Now its easier to get the conservative agenda passed into law without Democrats gumming up the works.
Filibuster was necessary and useful
Democrats gutted it so screw ‘em
AFTER they pack the seats they should put things back the way they were
In the article about Harry Reid -- who in 2013 eliminated the filibuster for presidential appointments, except to Supreme Court
Elena Kagan is the most recent appointee and that in 2010. Rest assured that Reid would have included SCOTUS judges if he had had one to appoint.
Reid was the Senate Majority leader from Jan 2007 to Jan 2015.
BS. It was a necessary brake on the government. Both sides are going to suffer from it. We aren’t a democracy remember?
We’re supposed to be a limited constitutional federal republic.
The Senate is an anti-democratic institution, on purpose..
